The Inn, like the church, is an integral part of the history and landscape.

The Bush Inn used to boast a fine old thatched roof but in November 1968 a fire destroyed the lovely roof and roughly half the acient inn but incredibly today it still generates an old-world atmosphere and total charm. The Bush Inn is said to be one of the most haunted inns in the region. Many have heard invisible footsteps, there’s talk of a ghostly knocking on a door which is no longer there, a Naval Chaplain felt menaced in his four poster bed at night, an American visitor encountered an elderly seafaring man who, when challenged, simply turned and disappeared through a solid wall – and The Bush Inn has been investigated many times, especially during the haunted hours – Radio Cornwall has investigated for its Ghost Hunt series – and yes, some say Parson Hawker often comes up after being at church ………………

Who knows – but its clear the Bush Inn has a total, timeless charm all its own. Amy Johnson's Propeller, a wonderful collection of pewter mugs, original Babycham bambis - and a whole lot more to discover.

It’s a unique place to be with a history stretching back to a world we can only dream of. Every nook and cranny in this delightful pub offers a new delight and something to explore.

No visit to Morwenstow is complete without a visit to The Bush!
