Type: Festival

A small, friendly and very welcoming folk festival in the picturesque seaside town of Bude and nearby Stratton in North Cornwall. The emphasis is always on enjoyment and participation and features a great range of sessions, dances and dancers and ‘sing-arounds’.

An entirely acoustic festival (apart from the ceilidhs), the program offers a wide range of singers, dancers and musicians, which is why the event is fast gaining a reputation on the folk circuit as a great little festival to attend. Local folk entertainers ensure that get to see some of what Cornwall has to offer and entertainment from further afield gives the locals a taste of what's going on outside Cornwall. And being a seaside town, there is always the big shanty sing included in the programme.

In order to make this festival as accessible to all, the festival organisers try to keep costs as low as possible and offer both weekend tickets and individual event tickets at a fair price. Discounted camping is available at Bude Rugby Club ground for hardened festival goers. For your enjoyment the festival has a very inclusive feel with lots of ‘sing around’ sessions, guitar workshops, you can take part in mummer’s plays and folk dancing and from early morning till late there are performances by established folk musicians from all over the UK - there’s even a chance to perform your own stuff on stage, too.

The 2012 festival dates are Friday night 1st June to Tuesday night 5th June (Jubilee weekend) and weekend tickets will be amazing value at £30.00 per person, single event tickets will also be available. Camping will be available to weekend ticket holders at Bude Rugby Club.
