Friendly accommodation with high standards of service, comfort and cleanliness offering a comfotable base from which to enjoy Bude.
Located in an enviable position adjacent to Summerleaze beach, with superb 180 degrees panoramic views, spanning the town and valley of the river Neet, Efford Downs, the cliffs, harbour, beach and Atlantic.
We are in a prime location along a quiet cul-de-sac, and a short stroll over the grassy downs takes you directly to Summerleaze beach. The cliffs are equally accessible via the South West Coast path, running right past the door.
Summerleaze has a fine sandy beach which, protected by the breakwater, is equally popular with bathers and surfers. At low tide Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches merge - in fact you can continue walking north from Crooklets along the sand reached by boat or from the cliff paths. A little further (2 miles by road) is Widemouth Bay, a spectacular sandy beach extremely popular with surfers.
Lifequards supervise all the main beaches during the main season.
The sea pool is a feature of Summerleaze beach. The sea at high tide fills this large man made rock pool. It provides a calm, sheltered saltwater pool for swimming in or sunbathing by.
The town centre is a few minutes walk away where there are a variety of shops to browse as well as restaurants and tearooms to sample. The Canal is equally close, where you will find the unique sea lock, wharf-side museum, the Castle and nature reserve.
Adjacent to the South West Coast Path makes us a convenient point for walkers to break their journey. For more casual walkers there are trails in and around Bude to suit all abilities. Some of the most popular walks are The Bude Canal and River Neet Valley Walk, the Cornish Way and the Camel and Tarka Trails.
There are picturesque cycle-routes such as the Bude to Week St Mary route starting from the town, in addition the Camel and Tarka Trails are within easy reach, both offering miles of traffic free cycling.There are several horse riding stables in the Bude area, the nearest are within 10 minutes walk.
The coastline both north and south from Bude is spectacularly rugged. The rock formations are so interesting that, outside of the main holiday season, we regularly entertain groups of geologists from schools, universities and industry. The area is regularly used by film and TV industries for location shooting.
Boscastle, Port Isaac, Clovelly, Hartland, Tintagel and Padstow are short drives away. Further afield, but still popular day trips are the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and St Ives.
