Crooklets Beach
Type: Beach
Crooklets is at the north side of Bude and can be reached by a short walk over the Summerleaze Down, or down the hill from the town centre. A wide expanse of golden sand is exposed at low tide, bordered by rocky outcrops ideal for rock-pooling. Crooklets has great facilities - a large car park, level access and viewing area, a play area, skate park, beach cafe, showers, amusements and pubs close by. More exposed to the Atlantic swell than its neighbour, Summerleaze, Crooklets is very popular with surfers and is home to the Bude Surf Life Saving Club. The Bude SLSC holds surf life-saving demonstrations on Crooklets Beach every Tuesday evening during the summer, offering a brilliant opportunity to watch and support the invaluable service they provide. Lifeguard cover is provided from 16th May until 20th September. Dogs are banned from Easter Day to 1st October (except guide dogs).
