Fishing in and around Bude
Recent development of the canal has done much to improve the access to the canal bank. Roach, rudd, dace, perch, tench, carp and bream are commonly caught. Closed season runs from 1st April to 31st May. During the open season, bailifs patrol the towpath and sell the relevent permits.
Lower Tamar Lake is great for rainbow and brown trout fishing. Fishing season is from March October, one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.
Upper Tamar Lake well stocked with rudd, carp, tench, bream, grayling, brown trout and dace. The lake is open all the year, and day and night tickets are available.
Lower Lynstone Lakes have two coarse fishing lakes adjacent to the Canal and well stocked with mirror and common carp and tench.
