Bude Lifeboat Day

A fun day for all the family with Bude lifeboat crew, rowing races, sand & culm races, coffees, cream teas, music and singing, treasure hunt, crab catching competition, helicopter demo, hog toast, ladies guild stalls, sea safety caravan, beach rescue, disco, live band, even stormy stan could be there! and of course finishing with a firework finale.

There will be lots to see and do, starting from 10am, finishing with a grand Firework Display, which starts at 9.30pm. Please come along and join us for a real fun family day out!

Diary of events:

10am - 12pm Canal Capers Come and join in the fun on the Canal for the BARNES CUP traditional rowing races. Open to all. Sign up from 9.30am at Bob's Boathouse.

10am - 12pm Morning Coffee in the Marquee on the Castle Lawns.

11am - 1pm Bude Metric Brass play in the Bandstand.

11am - 1pm & 2pm - 4pm Face Painting in the Castle Grounds.

11am Childrens Treasure Hunt on Summerlease Beach.

11am - 9.30pm Barbecue on the Wharf and licensed Bar in the Marquee.

12pm Capsize Drill in the Canal Basin.

12.30pm - 1.30pm Pasty Competition at the Brendon Arms.

1.30pm Judging of Pasties at the Brendon Arms, followed by the Pasty Auction.

1.30pm - 3pm Bude Lifeboat Singers entertain on the Brendon Lawns.

1.45pm Kids Crab Fishing Competition - meet at Iron Bridge.

2pm - 5pm Canoe Polo Tournament on the Canal by the Museum.

2pm - 4.30pm Cream Teas in the Marquee, with entertainment by Dick and Anne Dingle 'A Bit o' Luck'.

2.30pm Lobster Draw.

3pm - 4pm Search and Rescue Demonstration with Bude Lifeboat, Padstow Lifeboat and Helicopter off Summerleaze Beach.

4pm - 6pm Buy your Duck Race tickets and visit the Lifeboat Simulator.

6pm Rotary International Duck Race on Nannymore's Bridge, finishing at (or starting from) the Weir.

6.30pm - 7.45pm Family Disco in the Marquee.

7pm Hog Roast and Barbecue on the Wharf.

7pm - 8pm Friggin' Riggin' will be entertaining on the Falcon Lawns.

8pm - 10pm Family Evening in the Marquee and on the Castle Lawns, dancing to Blue Slate.

7pm onwards 'Wings' Colwill Trophy Nautical Assault Course and Races on Bude Canal.

9.30pm Grand Fireworks Display viewed from the Castle Grounds. During and following which, there will be a final collection.

All Day......

There will be the Ladies Lifeboat Guild stalls in the Marquee and the Lifeboat House. Come and see the state of the art RNLI All Weather Lifeboat Simulator on Barkhouse Green, RNLI Beach Safety Display Units, St John Ambulance, Lions Club, Emergency Services Equipment, Coastguard, Bude Vintage Car Club, and Model Boat Display.
