Abel’s and Cleave Cottages are all ideally situated near the wonderful beach of Crackington Haven, making them ideal for beautiful coastal holidays. The barns are set amongst two other farm dwellings at Cleave Farm. The converted barns are over 300 years old and maintain much of their original character, yet maintain a contemporary feel. The barns were converted over 35 years ago to cottages and have been run by the family ever since.
Cleave Farm Cottages are approached by their own mile long lane which passes through a ford. The approach gives magnificent views to the sea and countryside. The cottages are only 150 metres from the rugged Cornish Cliffs and coastal paths, perfect for invigorating walks.

“This place is gorgeous. Wooden beams, a high ceiling, and charming wonky floors and walls that mean you are in a “real” old house. Natural light pours through the windows, and outside are rolling landscapes of dewy-morning grass lit up by the sun – all accompanied by the sound of birdsong and bleating sheep.
Today we head towards the sea for a cliff walk looking over Crackington Haven beach. It feels as though we’re walking at the edge of the world: the contrast of blue sea, craggy coast, gorse bushes and wildflowers is transfixing. And the kids love it too. Once in a while, it’s good to feel small, let the landscape dominate you, and forget about the trappings of city life.”
