Coombe Valley View

Coombe Valley View is a spacious two bedroom lodge in a quiet location at the edge of Penstowe Holiday Park. Penstowe Manor is just a couple of minutes walk offering a restaurant and bar with evening entertainment and a children’s club.
There are also a number of other facilities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pool, gym and games room for which there is a charge. Daily or weekly tickets are available from the manor house reception.

There is also another restaurant and take away on-site and the village of Kilkhampton is just a short walk from the park gates where you will find a number of pubs offering good food, a tea room, fish and chips and grocery stores.

Adjacent to the park is a lane leading to the very nice secluded beach of Sandy Mouth and there are several more beaches along the coast within a short drive. There are also two local golf courses, one with a driving range.

The main A39 north/south trunk road passes right next to the park gates offering excellent access to all of North Cornwall’s main attractions, such as Clovelly to the north and Tintagel and Port Isaac to the south.

The lodge itself offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for 4/5 people in two large bedrooms, one double (with a full size four foot six double bed) and one twin (with two full size three foot single beds) There is an additional single folding bed, which is slightly smaller but plenty big enough for a child, teenager or small adult.

The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, four ring ceramic hob, washing machine, fridge and freezer and all the usual kitchen appliances. The living/dining room offers plenty of space to sit and relax and there is additional space in the conservatory, an ideal spot to sit with a coffee and admire the view over the valley down to the sea in the distance. Outside the patio doors there is an area of decking with picnic table and chairs, to enjoy on warm evenings.

The bathroom offers the choice of a quick refreshing shower or you can relax and soak in the bath if preferred. Electricity is paid for by a coin operated meter accepting one or two pound coins, fairly old fashioned but quite convenient.

The main town of Bude is about 6 miles away and offers two excellent beaches (patrolled by lifeguards throughout the season) and a good selection of shops and eating places. The area is also ideal for walkers, with the Cornish coastal path running all the way along the coast. You can choose to walk just a few miles to nearby Widemouth Bay, where there are cafes for refreshment before your walk back, or you can walk for many miles. The path continues all around Cornwall.

We hope the lodge offers everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable stay in North Cornwall.
