Wooldown Holiday Cottages

Wooldown Holiday Cottages offer a special romantic getaway in a range of ultra-modern, design-led country cottages and apartment barns in Marhamchurch, just a couple of miles from Bude.  The cottages and apartments have stunning rural views.

Rosehip Cottage

One of the original mariner’s cottages on Breakwater Road along the famous Bude Canal, this cottage offers supremely comfortable accommodation for your holiday adventures in and around Bude. Being just a few yards from the Lock Gates, this picturesque cottage offers spectacular views over Summerleaze Beach and Bude Castle Mount. You‘ll love the location and direct access to the ever-popular Summerleaze Beach and Bude Sea Pool, and the well kept 100’ garden with patio terrace.

Meadow View

Sit in the enclosed balcony and relax with a cup of tea or enjoy your breakfast whilst looking out across the cycle path and Bude Marshes Nature Reserve – you may even see the swans!  Located just behind the marshes is the Bude Canal with a variety of wildlife and farm animals on the other side of the river bank. Walk along the path for five minutes and you’re in the Harbour and town.

The Falcon Hotel

Overlooking the Bude Canal and just a stones throw from Summerleaze Beach and Harbour, the Falcon Hotel promises charm and elegance with guest happiness at the heart of everything they do.

Boots Cottage

Many guests at Boots Cottage in Helebridge at the ‘country end’ of the Bude Canal comment on the rural views from the upstairs windows, with the Canal basin in one direction, distant fields in another and the edge of the typical Cornish village of Marhamchurch to the east. For many it seems to be the sense of space and distance, with an appreciation of gently changing aspects of nature and occasional wildlife sightings. New blossom on trees in Spring, the warm light of a Summer’s evening – even the blustery rain and wind in Winter creates extra interest.

Budds Barns

The view from the cottages at Budds Barns looks out over stunning rolling countryside, with the church spire at Marhamchurch in the distance in clear view in one corner. Its a view which rail travellers on the famous Atlantic Express would have enjoyed as they approached Bude on the final leg of their journey from Paddington. The old railway line ran right alongside the cottages. We always point this out to first time guests as the bridge over the old line on our lane is still there but on our side the cutting was completely filled in, which is always something of a mystery to younger visitors ! Now with the trains sadly gone, its an oasis of peace.
