The Hotel Inspector Reveals The Atlantic House Hotel
We have just had a wonderful time at the Atlantic House Hotel, where Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector, Alex Polizzi and her team revealed the new Atlantic House Hotel!
What a beautiful Spring day with blue sea, blue sky, high white cloud and the seagulls calling for the unveiling of the re-vamped rooms at the Atlantic House Hotel. People gathered on the lawn opposite the Hotel for drinks before heading inside for a peek at the new rooms which were lovely. Warm colours such as jade, sea-blue and muted terracotta combine with mauve to add real elegance and warmth to the neutral tones of the beds and furniture. We loved the matt grey finish to the new bedroom furniture. We all agreed that we would love to stay in any of the three rooms which have received the magic touch of Alex Polizzi. As well as the newly transformed guestrooms the restaurant has also received an upgrade and the dusky blue walls were complemented beautifully by the wall of mirrors and pretty cushions.
Alex herself was extremely friendly and spent the whole time chatting to everyone and was as bubbly and funny as she appears on the screen. We listened to a fascinating talk by Steve Crummay about the nature and wildlife in the local area including tasting treats such as the stalks of Cow Parsley and wild thyme. It was great to hear more about how Trevor, the proprietor of the Atlantic House and a keen naturalist and birdwatcher, hopes to encourage more visitors to the hotel to take in the natural beauty and nature which surrounds Bude.
As we left talks by local geologist Dr Roger Higgs, and historian Johnathan Ball were about to begin. We just had time to sample the delicious chicken and sausage Jambalaya by chef of La Bouche Creole restaurant, Todd Varnedoe before zipping back to re-open the Tourist Office!
The Atlantic House Hotel has been a member of Bude Area Tourist Board for many years, and the proprietor, Trevor Rounding, was a Director of the Tourist Board for several years.
