Bring the kids to Whalesborough.
At Whalesborough we have everything you need for the perfect holiday with children of any age.
We have two swimming pools which your children will spend hours enjoying. One is a heated indoor pool and the other is outdoors in the sun. We have loads of facilities on site for your children to enjoy. For younger children we have a lovely Pets Corner which has chickens, ducks, pygmy goats and pigs for the children to enjoy. We collect the eggs and feed the animals twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9.30am which children can help us do. We also have a people carrying trailer to take children on tractor and trailer rides to the beach and around the farm.
We have a huge indoor play area with soft play, ride on tractors and other games suitable for children under the age of six. There is a pool table, ice hockey, table football, table tennis, darts and much more. There is also a badminton court and a basket ball hoop.
Off site, there are so many places to see and things to do. Why not explore the fabulous area that Whalesborough is in? The Camel Trail is a multi-purpose trail in Northern Cornwall, and is used by hikers, cyclists and horse riders; it is relatively flat, which makes it fully accessible to those with disabilities.
Bike hire is available in Padstow, Wadebridge or Bodmin for those who don’t have their own bikes with them.
For those who want a short easy ride or stroll for the whole family, Shell Woods, situated between Bisland and Helland, is the perfect opportunity. This beautiful wooded stretch of the trail follows the meandering course of the river.
The beach is not far away, and there’s always the opportunity to learn to surf! We can recommend British Champion Miles Lee Hargeaves to kick start your surfing techniques!
Down at the Weir, 500 yards from the cottage, there is a lovely adventure playground for children, based on a wildlife theme, just by the fishing lake.
Play and climb on the bird-hide lookout or use the tunnels of the Badger set to hide from your family and friends or swing on the Heron’s nest swing with your brothers and sisters. There is also a rocking frog and otter all within viewing range of the picnic tables, so parents can keep an eye on the little ones while enjoying a coffee, cream tea or meal. There is also an interactive wildlife centre inside the Weir, with lots of fun games for children to play on, along with Hearne Falconry who have several different species of Owls and Birds Of Prey for people to view.
