Autumn in Bude - as the Summer fades into Autumn there are many great things to look forward to as the nights draw in and the leaves begin to fall...
Some of our holiday accommodation providers in and around Bude will let their property for up to six months through the winter at discounted rates.
The Higher Wharf is the section of canal from the road bridge heading inland. The old buildings, Lifeboat House and warehouses have been transformed into residential and holiday accommodation.
The Lower Wharf is the section of canal from the road bridge to the Lock Gates and Summerleaze Beach. It's a hive of activity - with rowing boat boat hire, independent shops and craft units, a seasonal farmers-market, weekly Artisan Market, bistros, cafes and tea rooms. Breakwater Road runs parallel to the canal, and offers some fantastic self-catering accommodation. You're so close to the beach, local pubs and eateries you wont need to use the car unless you decide to get out and about to explore.
We have a huge range of hotel, B&B and Guest House accommodation in Bude. Many of the owners understand the growing desire for special diets including vegan food to be included in their breakfast menu.
Access to St Genny's - amongst many others rivalling in their outstanding beauty – is an easy half hour drive from Boots Cottage (sleeps 2/3) at Helebridge, Bude. Although we are now fully booked for the summer period, we would be delighted to welcome you for an autumn stay with 10% discount to sample the delights of the stunning coastline in its autumn glory.
Bude Area Tourist Board are actively working to ensure that all accommodation providers and Airbnb hosts are aware of the rules and regulations involved when accepting a ‘paying guest’. Even if you casually let a spare room for a short period of time, you are bound by the same rules and regulations followed by the professional businesses. Our aim is to ensure that all accommodation on offer in the Bude area is safe and legal.
Shall we venture North or South? An often difficult decision to make in Bude - as both directions present such tantalising opportunities for exploration, fine views and refreshment! The South West Coast path literally leaves you on a cliff edge of suspense and excitement as to what is round the next corner in terms of spectacular and diverse views - we have yet to be disappointed!
We've heard rumours for a while, but now it is confirmed. Travelodge have put in planning permission to build a 70-room hotel in Bude (to replace the derelict bus depot opposite the Co-op supermarket).
We facilitate lots of bookings for our local Hotel, Guest House and B&B’s at the Tourist Information Centre, on the VisitBude website and with our printed accommodation guides. When we talk to our visitors (which we do all day, every day), we’ve noticed that people are often surprised to discover that our locally owned accommodation can be cheaper than the rates offered at Premier Inn.
