September 21 - September 23
We are delighted to announce the second Budelicious Food Festival on 21-23 September 2019. Budelicious will again showcase the wonderful artisan food and drink producers in the area, and the very best and varied restaurants that Bude has to offer.
The organizers have added a photographic and a Limerick competition with prizes, worth £1,000
The Budelicious event will include ‘street-food’ vendors outside the Falcon Hotel; an Artisans’ Hall, where local area producers will taste and sell their wares; a Marquee where our fantastic local and celebrity chefs will demonstrate their skills; a family area, with children’s entertainment; and Cornish Musicians to close the Festival
Last year, a number of local restaurants, cafés and shops participated in the “Foodie Fortnight” and offered Budelicious specials in the two weeks leading up to the Food Festivals. Local Artisan food will be featured in a Gala dinner. A trade-only event just for chefs will be put on by Chadds Foodsmiths and held on Monday 23 September.
The event is again being led by celebrity chef Peter Gorton (Master Chef of GB) a past Guide Michelin star winner. Peter commented. “Last year, I called in many ‘markers’ from chefs, artisan food producers and my contacts in the trade; they all answered the call and contributed beyond my expectations”
Budelicious is being sponsored by the Falcon Hotel, Chadds Foodsmiths and St Austell Brewery through their Proper Job Cornish IPA. Trade Marketing Manager Marc Bishop commented “We are delighted that almost 2,000 people attended Budelicious last year, and hope the event will become an established Festival in Cornwall.
Again, coordination will be provided by the Falcon Hotel. Owner, Rupert Brendon, added: “We decided to add an element to Budelicious in which people could get involved in an active hands-on way. We are contributing the prizes for a Photographic and a Limerick Competition, totalling £1,000 – see the website for details.
Nick Chadd said: “We are proud to supply the catering trade around the Bude area and throughout Cornwall for the last 70 years. This event will feature the diverse food offering we have here in the local community and give an additional reason for people to visit Bude – where Cornwall begins!”.
Budelicious is supported and promoted by the Bude Area Tourist Board, whose Chair, Linda Winstanley, added: “We think the Photographic and Limerick competitions will reach visitors beyond the immediate area, and with regular updates will help to keep Bude top-of-mind with visitors throughout the year.
