The Kitchen Front
Located on the The Wharf, just a few minutes walk from Bude Tourist Office.
The kitchen front is an eclectic mix; a fascinating shop with a wide choice of craft items to browse and buy, 1940’s tea room and daily workshops for a children and adults.
The 1940’s Tea room uses original WWII cake recipes, tea and coffee all served in vintage china, replica newspapers to read and new for 2020 The Knickerbocker Glory!
OPEN HOURS– Monday – Friday 10am -5pm
WEEKENDS – open if we are pre booked.
Talk and Tea
Entertaining, illustrated history talk with original stories and memories of life in Bude between 1939-1954. Includes tea/coffee and light afternoon tea £15 per person. Book in advance.
Daily 1940s Tea room experience.
Mon-Fri ; Daily service subject to availability , book in advance or call in to see if there is space. Only seating 6. Tea/coffee/1940s cakes only. New this year – The Knicker Bocker Glory. (Fabulous History!)
Workshops available at other times.
- Kids ceramic sessions:
Mon-Thu (can do Fridays on request) 10am – 12.30; Ideal for primary aged children. £12 Limited seating as kids come in individually. Good idea to book if possible.
- Ceramic Kitchenware design and illustration :
Mon – Thu 2pm half day. £7.50 plus item (approx spend £25 inc). Tea and cake included. Cool, calm and relaxing environment. Art technique with professional illustrator. Please book in advance. This workshop could could be available at the weekend by prior arrangement.
- Fabric print:
Mon-Thu 10am -12.30- or 2pm to 4pm must be pre-booked.
Private family and friends groups. Create your own block print design.
(£7.50 plus items- average spend £20 inc)

Seating max 10. £15.00. Entertaining (even though I say so myself) and illustrated. Must prebook. Based on local history and memories during the Ration years 1939-1954. Afternoon tea included with original 1940s recipe cakes and sandwiches.

available for private groups and parties. Normally we are booked with hen parties and birthday parties. We can seat a max of 16 @ 1m apart which is well inside government guidelines of 30.
