Description
We are all interested in the history of Bude and the memories we share and cherish. But there is a period in our history that has been overlooked and nearly lost to memory.
The book, “Bude’s Tide Mill and Bridge” will take you back to 1183 and beyond and chart the history of the harbour through to 1802. The developments that took place then changed the landscape of the town for ever. We could so easily have had an estuary like that of the Camel or a town divided like East and West Looe.
The book has been written with a great deal of help from David Thorn and the Thorn Photographic library and, of course, the detailed records of the late Peter Truscott.
