Green Accreditation Options

Tourist and traveller concerns for the environment and climate are becoming more significant each year. Visitors and customers are increasingly seeking out businesses and destinations with excellent green credentials.

Gaining green accreditation provides a useful structure to take action towards a more sustainable business, as well as provide an opportunity to showcase your green credentials to your customers.

Our project brings together businesses, the community, and visitors to collaborate in building resilience and reducing emissions in the visitor economy and has led us to develop The Bude Way’s unique Green Leaf Accreditation Scheme.

The scheme evaluates and recognises tourism businesses that adhere to sustainable and responsible practices, or are making positive changes within their business to become more sustainable.
It’s totally free for tourism businesses in the wider Bude area, and we’ll use the answers provided to calculate a score in each of the five sections which equates to the 1, to or 3 ‘leaf’ gradings.
You’ll be provided with a logo to use on your website and marketing.

There are many existing national and international schemes, but we feel it is particularly important we create a unique scheme for Bude.

We encourage all accommodation providers to carry out the quick form with the intention of gauging how sustainable the business is right now and to see the areas in which improvements might be made.

Should you wish to join other existing accreditation schemes you can read about some available options here.
