Bude and this stretch of the North Coast is becoming increasingly well known for the high quality of the local food produced. Apart from the standard Westcountry fayre, such as freshly caught fish and excellent local meat, you will find an increasing array of cheeses, ice-cream, baked goods, pastries, beers and ciders made in the area. Many of these can be found at the weekly Bude Farmers’ Market held on the Wharf in Bude every Friday during the season. The kitchens of our local eateries are brimming with ‘homegrown’ produce and locally-sourced food is of real importance to the chefs in the area. If you enjoy sampling something tasty how about spending a day visiting a ‘foodie’ attraction, such as Haywood’s Cider Farm where you can enjoy a barbeque and delicious ciders after a tour of the orchard, or enjoy a meal and some retail at one of the local farm shops.
