Whether you are sitting on our deck overlooking the canal and watching the world go by or taking our boat and kayaks for a row, the Old Laundry is a lovely base for your Cornish holiday.
This unusual, spacious 3 bedroom house is located in the converted Stapletons’ Shipyard building on the Bude canal. This interesting stone property is over 200 years old and where 19th century ketches and schooners were once built. The arrival of the railway saw the canal fall out of use and with it the shipyard declined. Bude became a popular holiday destination and The Steam Laundry opened to serve local hotels and guest houses before itself closing and the building being converted to the homes you see today.
This lovely location on the Bude canal, is a short level walk from local beaches, pubs, restaurants, town centre shops and cliff top walks.
The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms a spacious kitchen/diner and sitting/games room. There is a private deck, rowing boat, two kayaks and private patio to rear of house, free WiFi, four smart TVs and parking for two cars in a private car park.
Nearby is a post office and convenience store selling lovely freshly baked bread and a selection of handy groceries. Also close by is the Bude tourist information office. Only a short walk away are Summerleaze and Crocklets beaches, both popular with families and surfers.
The Beaches offer long stretches of sand and many rock pools to explore. The Town has many independently owned gift and clothes shops as well as chain stores and four supermarkets. Bude has an excellent golf course, tennis courts, mini golf and many other outdoor facilities. There is also an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley and large ball park for younger children.
