Parking in Bude

There are a good number of car parks in Bude in key locations.  The main beaches have large car carks, and there are a few small car parks in the town centre.  Once you leave the central Bude area, parking is available in the smaller villages – and its often free.

Most Pay and Display machines accept cash only, but some also accept card payments.  The machines can be temperamental, and do not accept notes or give change.  Always carry plenty of change!  The JustPark app works in the Cornwall Council car parks, so its worth creating an account – see the information below about the Just Park Wallet where you can park for 24 hours and pay around £2.50.

There’s lots of handy information below but please remember:  in the summer holidays, the beach car parks get very busy.  If you’re staying in Bude, it’s far better to use the bus or walk.

If no disabled spaces are available, you can park in a normal space as long as it’s not marked for other uses, such as reserved parking or loading areas.

Best places to park

  • The Crescent Car Park at the Bude Tourist Information Centre (EX23 8LE) has an overflow field which is great for mortorhome and campervan parking in Bude.  It’s currently closed whilst the Bude Canal is dredged, but should be open again for summer 2024.

Where not to park

  • During school holidays, we strongly advise that you do not drive a motorhome or campervan larger than a minibus into Summerleaze Beach car park – it’s easy to get into the car park, but can be very difficult to get out if cars are parked badly!
