Rosehip Cottage is a beautifully restored historic mariner’s cottage on Breakwater Road, offering generous space for families and groups just moments from Summerleaze Beach and the Bude Canal. With sea views, a large garden, wood-burning stoves and direct access to coastal walks, it provides a comfortable and characterful base for exploring North Cornwall.

This spacious period cottage blends original character with modern comfort across multiple living areas, making it well suited to sociable family stays or group holidays by the coast.
The welcoming sitting room features a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings, while the separate dining space and fully equipped kitchen allow for relaxed shared meals after days on the beach. A utility room provides practical space for sandy gear and longer stays.
Upstairs, comfortable bedrooms offer flexible accommodation for up to eight guests, with additional space available in the optional annex for larger groups or extended family.
One of Rosehip Cottage’s standout features is its large enclosed garden, ideal for families and outdoor living. The lawn, patio seating, BBQ and hammock create a relaxed space for al fresco dining and unwinding after coastal walks.
From the garden, you can easily access nearby paths leading to the beach, canal and town, making it simple to enjoy Bude without needing to drive.
Situated on Breakwater Road, the cottage enjoys an exceptional position close to both Summerleaze Beach and the Bude Canal. Guests can walk to the beach in minutes, enjoy canal-side strolls, or explore the town’s shops, cafés and restaurants on foot.
The location also provides easy access to the wider North Cornwall coast, making it an ideal base for surfing beaches, cliff walks and day trips to nearby villages and attractions.
Rosehip Cottage sleeps 6-8 and includes:
- Queen size double bed in master bedroom overlooking the canal with window seat and sea view
- Two good sized double/twin bedrooms overlooking the garden
- The mattresses on the double/twin beds come in a variety of grades to allow you to find the bed that is most comfortable for you
- Sitting room with wood burning stove sofa and sofa bed 40” TV with Netflix app (use with your own account) and Bluray/DVD player
- Double Sofa bed in sitting room
- Dining room with table and chairs for 6 and wood burning stove. Extra chairs and table will allow seating for 8 (or more at a squeeze!)
- Sun room opening into garden courtyard, bringing extra light into dining room and kitchen
- Well equipped modern kitchen with oven/ grill toaster kettle blender small fridge small dishwasher
- Large new fridge freezer in the larder

- Gate at the back giving access to the Breakwater, Storm Tower, South West Coastal path towards Widemouth
- Children of any age are very welcome
- Highchairs and travel cots are available on request
- There are no stairgates in the cottage parents can bring their own portable stairgates if they wish
- In the downstairs patio there is a gate at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the garden
- Parents should take care to ensure that young children are supervised at all times
- Bed linen bath and hand towels are provided and changed at the end of each week
- Six beach towels are provided and are changed at the end of your stay
Cleaning of the cottage at the end of each week is included
