Bude Postcard Collection

We’re creating a brand new Bude postcard collection, and we want YOUR work to be part of it!

Whether you’re a photographer capturing the perfect shot or an artist working with watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, or digital illustration, this is your chance to showcase your talent.

For every postcard sold, 5p will be donated to a Bude based charity. We’ll be producing 10,000 postcards (500 of each winning image), meaning together we’ll raise £500 for a Bude-based charity!

Do you have a stunning image of Bude or the Bude area?

It could be a:

  • Photograph (landscape, seascape, local landmarks, culture etc)
  • Painting (watercolour, acrylic, oil, or mixed media etc)
  • Illustration or digital artwork

Photograpy & Digital Submissions

  • Submit 1 entry per email or multiple entries via a fileshare website, eg WeTransfer and Dropbox
  • Digital files must be in .JPG or .PDF format minimum 1MB in size – but larger is better
  • The file name must include your full name and email address
  • Email to comp@visitbude.info

Submission Requirements:

  • Clearly write your name and contact details on an envelope and submit via post (or drop into Bude TIC)
  • Artwork should be A5/A4/A3 in size

1. Organiser

The Bude Postcard Competition (“Competition”) is organised by VisitBude.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to photographers and artists of all levels, including amateurs and professionals.
  • Entrants must be the original creator of all submissions.
  • The image must represent Bude or the surrounding area (Morwenstow to Crackington Haven, and across to the River Tamar).

3. Submission Guidelines

  • Photographs must be high resolution.
  • Paper submissions must be A5, A4 or A3 in size.

4. Image Usage Rights

By entering the competition, entrants grant VisitBude a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use submitted images for:

  • The Bude postcard series
  • Promotional materials (print, digital, social media, and press).
  • Commercial products, including postcards, guidebooks, and other merchandise.
  • Editorial content, including blogs, websites, and brochures.
  • VisitBude will credit the photographer wherever reasonably possible.
  • Entrants retain full ownership of their images and may use them freely for other purposes.

5. Judging & Selection

A panel of judges will select the winning images based on composition, creativity, and representation of Bude.

  • A public vote may also influence the final selections.
  • Winning photographers and artists will be notified via email.

6. Charity Donations

  • 5p from every postcard sold will be donated to a Bude based charity, with 500 postcards of each winning image produced.
  • The chosen charity will be selected from a public vote

7. General Conditions

  • VisitBude reserves the right to modify or cancel the competition at any time.
  • Offensive, inappropriate, or AI-generated images will be disqualified.
  • By submitting images, entrants confirm they have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
