Foodie Holidays in Bude

Does good food get your juices flowing?  If so, you are in the right place as there is no end to the culinary offerings to be found in the Bude area!  We cater for the full range of tastes and budgets from the classic (and obligatory) Cornish Pasty, baked daily in numerous bakeries in the area, to fine dining in our well-loved restaurants.

No surprise that fresh fish features on many of the local menus due to the proximity of the sea.  You can buy fresh fish at the shop in Widemouth Bay or better still book a table at the Beach House next door where they will cook it for you!  We boast a delightful Cornish Tapas Bar and many restaurants where locally-sourced meat, eggs, dairy and vegetables are always on the menu and are directly traceable to the growers.

We have locally roasted coffee available in many of our local cafes and farm shops or, if tea is your preference, you must sample a proper Cornish Cream Tea (jam first) in one of our pretty teashops – the vintage bone china at the award winning Rectory Farm Tearoom at Morwenstow makes you feel like a Victorian on their grand tour!

Delve further into the foodie experience with a tour of the local rum distillery at Norton Barton (samples abound so maybe book a taxi?!) or check out an alternative foodie experience at The Kitchen Front where you can try ration cakes and treats at the 1940s experience.
