This is one of the wildest beaches in North Cornwall.  There’s not much sand here, but this pebble and shingle beach is a welcome retreat from the summertime crowds and is a true haven for wildlife – if you’re going to see seals, it will be probably be from here.  The beach is of huge geological interest with world famous zig zag folds in the towering cliffs.  Unfortunately, it’s not safe to swim here as there are no lifeguards.

Ideal for:  Haunting beauty.

Accessibility: Fair once you get past the pebbles.

Car Parking:  Limited on-road parking.

Safety: No RNLI Lifeguards.

Best time to surf:  All tides.

Dog Friendly?  Yes, all year.

SW Coast Path:  2 miles to Millook

Location: EX23 0DF

Directions: 5 miles | 15 minutes from the Bude TIC.  Turn left out of the at TIC car park.  Continue straight ahead and turn right at the Widemouth Manor.  The road is steep and narrow.  Continue ahead until you reach the beach.
