Written Directions:

  1. Begin your journey by crossing the road bridge from the car park and join the South West Coast Path.  The path ascends to cliffs above Tremoutha, then descends into a series of small, hanging valleys, where footbridges span the streams.
  2. As you approach Cambeak Headland, you have the option to take a permissive path through a spur valley to your left, rejoining the main coastal trail shortly thereafter. Alternatively, continue along the coast path, ascending a steep slope to Cambeak Headland, where panoramic views await. Admire the vast under-cliff and the bays of Little Strand beach and Strangles beach below.
  3. Follow the sign pointing to Strangles car park (200m inland). Take the path to your right, leading to Strangles Beach. This route offers a steep descent with steps and rocky terrain but rewards you with golden sands, intriguing rock formations, and unique beach treasures.
  4. After enjoying the beach, return to the coast path and follow it inland to a minor road. Turn left and skirt around the north side of Trevigue Farm until you reach a pond on the left.
  5. Head towards the white cottage on the right and pass through the gate set in a stone wall to the left of the cottage. Descend into the Ludon Valley across open fields.
  6. At the valley bottom, turn left and walk north alongside a stream towards Crackington. Follow the path as it enters woodland, keeping the water to your right.
  7. Cross two footbridges at the far edge of the woodland before following a quiet residential track back towards Crackington Haven.
  8. Finally, cross two more footbridges before arriving back at the Crackington Haven car park, completing your circular journey.
