Parsons Pottery stands as a testament to the genuine passion and shared commitment of the husband-and-wife team, John and Rosie. Drawing from a background in production throwing, John has meticulously honed his skills over the years, becoming a master in his craft. Meanwhile, Rosie has embraced the role of painter and glazer, adding her artistic touch to their collaborative endeavours.

In 2020, embarking on a new chapter, John and Rosie relocated to the picturesque north coast of Cornwall, in setting the stage for the evolution of Parsons Pottery. Here, against the backdrop of Quinceborough Farm, at Widemouth Bay, just outside of Bude they established a dedicated workshop, marking the official founding of Parsons Pottery. This move not only signified a change in location but also a significant leap forward for their creative project.

While they persist in sharing and selling their unique creations, a delightful shift has occurred. John and Rosie now find immense joy in connecting with the local community and holidaymakers alike.

Pottery Throwing:
Begin a pottery adventure with a throwing session, catering to both individuals and groups of 2-6 people. Individual sessions offer the opportunity to glaze and fire 2 pots, while group sessions involve the firing and glazing of one pot per person. There is a 9 hole crazy golf course and a brand new 18 hole mini golf course which is set in a picturesque spot looking straight across to the sand dunes of Summerleaze Beach.
The Grounds also have six recently resurfaced tennis courts, two squash courts, a bowling green and a putting green.

In addition, there is a great cafe with indoor and outdoor seating offering a range of hot and cold food and drinks including great coffee!

Grade II listed and steeped in history, The Castle Bude, owned and operated by Bude-Stratton Town Council, offers a wealth of attractions to explore for free, rain or shine. With a track record of safely introducing over 35,000 individuals, including men, women, and children, to the exhilarating world of surfing, we welcome returning enthusiasts year after year. Our surfing lessons cater to individuals, families, schools, as well as those with disabilities or neurodiverse individuals.

Operating on Summerleaze Beach, one of Cornwall’s most diverse surf spots, we have access to a sheltered bay for challenging conditions and an open sandy beach during mid to low tide, accommodating surfers of all skill levels. If big waves aren’t your preference, worry not!

Our coaches, fully qualified for all skill levels, are trained surf lifeguards, many of whom honed their surfing skills in Bude, providing them with extensive local expertise. Emphasizing safety as our top priority, we maintain a high coach-to-student ratio.

At Big Blue, we believe in inclusivity, running specialized adaptive lessons for individuals with disabilities, neurodiverse conditions, and mental health challenges.

Welcome to Docton Mill Tea Rooms & Gardens, a hidden gem in the heart of Hartland, North Devon.

Discover the captivating story of Docton Mill Wild Flower Gardens, nestled in a stunning valley just 1000m from the coast. Originating in the 1930s, the garden faced a period of neglect in the 1970s. The resurgence in 1980 brought about the renovation of the Mill, extensive planting, and the creation of a new Bog Garden and borders, accompanied by the planting of numerous trees. The new millennium ushered in further developments, including the Magnolia Garden, expansive Herbaceous borders, Woodland Garden, and a Greenhouse area for extensive plant propagation.

Our Wild Flower Gardens follow a theme of natural simplicity. In spring, witness displays of narcissi, primulas, camellias, rhododendrons, and azaleas, all framed by the enchanting presence of bluebells. Summer brings a profusion of roses, including a rose bank of Felicia and Pax, alongside the Herbaceous border. Explore a field boasting 25 varieties of magnolia, ensuring a garden that captivates throughout the seasons.
