Bencoolen Play Park is Bude’s premier free destination for family fun!  Nestled along the main road from Stratton as you enter Bude, this expansive play haven has undergone a recent rejuvenation, boasting state-of-the-art equipment to cater to children of all ages.

Dive into a world of inclusive play with our diverse range of equipment, thoughtfully designed to ensure every child can join in the fun. For the littlest adventurers, we have a dedicated area tailored specifically for toddlers, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.

Take advantage of our spacious grassy area, complete with picnic benches, perfect for relaxing while the kids play. Our park is equipped with convenient bins and encircled by benches, offering ample seating for parents and guardians to supervise their little ones.

As a courtesy to all visitors, we kindly request that dogs remain outside the play area. Let’s keep the fun and excitement focused on our young explorers!

Recently reconstructed, the wooden Pirate Ship moored behind the beach huts at Summerleaze Beach presents an imaginative playground for children of all ages.

Complete with intricate details like a realistic crow’s nest and stunning views overlooking the sea, this play area sets the stage for epic pirate adventures! Perched on the sandy shores and nestled along the lively promenade at Crooklets Beach, you’ll find a sprawling, purpose-built wooden shipwreck playground, beckoning adventurers of all ages.

With its captivating design and ample space for exploration, this maritime marvel promises endless fun and excitement. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a landlubber, the shipwreck offers an immersive play experience that will ignite the imagination and create lasting memories.

Conveniently positioned near the Downs, this play area serves as the perfect pit stop before embarking on a picturesque stroll across the scenic landscape from Crooklets to Summerleaze. It’s a seamless blend of adventure and tranquility, ensuring a memorable seaside escapade for the whole family.

Welcome to Budehaven Recreation Ground which has been offering a range of sporting activities for visitors and locals alike for over 100 years! Situated just opposite Summerleaze Beach, close to the Wharf and Canal and only minutes’ walk away from the town centre it really does offer something for everyone.

There is a 9 hole crazy golf course and a brand new 18 hole mini golf course which is set in a picturesque spot looking straight across to the sand dunes of Summerleaze Beach.
The Grounds also have six recently resurfaced tennis courts, two squash courts, a bowling green and a putting green.

In addition, there is a great cafe with indoor and outdoor seating offering a range of hot and cold food and drinks including great coffee!

Nestled in the quaint village of Poughill, you’ll find the charming Poughill Playground, a cozy haven tailored for our youngest adventurers.

Designed with safety in mind, Poughill Playground provides a sheltered and secure environment for smaller children to frolic and play. Amidst its intimate setting, you’ll discover a delightful combination of open grassy spaces and engaging play equipment, perfect for endless hours of fun.

Conveniently situated next to the free car park in Poughill and adjacent to the tranquil cemetery, accessing this inviting retreat is a breeze for families seeking a peaceful escape.
