Rainy day attractions
Whilst we’d all like to believe the weather in Cornwall matches its Mediterranean beaches, sadly, that’s not always the case. A rainy day or two on your Great British staycation is expected. It’s part of what makes it British. We never let a bit of rain dampen our spirits. If the skies darken when you’re in North Cornwall, you’ll find there’s lots of family friendly, rainy day activities in Bude.

Teylu Glass
Teylu Glass
The inspiration for our creative endeavours is drawn from the Cornish word for family, “Teylu.” Together, as a family unit, we have ventured into the world of fused glass art and workshops, creating pieces that reflect the beauty and warmth synonymous with the Cornish spirit.
In the heart of our artistic journey is Beau Nidol, a space where two sisters, fuelled by a passion for cutting glass and crafting fused glass art, collaborate with their mother, Julie. Beyond being a family-run venture, it’s a place where creativity flourishes, and the unique charm of Cornwall infuses every creation.
From these roots, Teylu Glass emerged—a testament to the bonds of family and the pursuit of a life where moments with loved ones take precedence. We invite you to join us on this extraordinary adventure, where art, family, and the Cornish spirit converge to create something truly exceptional. Welcome to Teylu Glass, where every piece tells a story of family, love, and the beauty of Cornwall.
At Teylu Glass, our customers are an extension of our family. Our aim is to create an atmosphere where you feel entirely at ease and relaxed during workshops. We want you to derive the utmost enjoyment from your time with us, crafting beautiful, fused glass items. Your comfort is our priority, and we look forward to welcoming you into our creative space. We have an array of workshops, including engaging sessions tailored for primary-aged children, workshops designed for those aged 12 and above, and exclusive private parties ideal for hens, stags, team-building events, and birthday celebrations. We’re also equipped to accommodate small school groups or clubs such as scouts and youth clubs.
Parsons Pottery
Parsons Pottery
Parsons Pottery stands as a testament to the genuine passion and shared commitment of the husband-and-wife team, John and Rosie. Drawing from a background in production throwing, John has meticulously honed his skills over the years, becoming a master in his craft. Meanwhile, Rosie has embraced the role of painter and glazer, adding her artistic touch to their collaborative endeavours.
In 2020, embarking on a new chapter, John and Rosie relocated to the picturesque north coast of Cornwall, in setting the stage for the evolution of Parsons Pottery. Here, against the backdrop of Quinceborough Farm, at Widemouth Bay, just outside of Bude they established a dedicated workshop, marking the official founding of Parsons Pottery. This move not only signified a change in location but also a significant leap forward for their creative project.
While they persist in sharing and selling their unique creations, a delightful shift has occurred. John and Rosie now find immense joy in connecting with the local community and holidaymakers alike.
Parsons Pottery has become a hub of creativity, hosting a variety of making and painting workshops. These interactive sessions not only showcase the artistry behind their pieces but also provide an opportunity for others to immerse themselves in the craft, creating lasting memories and unique works of art.
Join Parsons Pottery, where the beauty of Cornwall’s north coast meets the artistry of John and Rosie. Whether you’re a local resident or a holidaymaker, their workshops invite you to become a part of the creative process, turning your inspiration into tangible, handcrafted masterpieces.
