Originally known as “Pyston Yate” or “Priests Gate,” the origins of the pub’s name is thought to be connected to the nearby old Vicarage, which dates back to 1679. This historical link adds a touch of intrigue and invites you to step back in time as you enjoy the cozy ambiance.

The Bush Inn is a 13th Century free house in the beautiful parish of Morwenstow. We pride ourselves in using quality local produce wherever possible with all of our eggs, dairy, poultry, beef, pork, lamb and potatoes coming from local suppliers in North Cornwall, some of which are farmers from here in Morwenstow. We even have our own herd of beef cattle situated just half a mile down the coastline.
