Once home to the farm’s Shire horses, these converted old stables are simply stunning. The huge front door opens straight into the main living area, which is full height from the flagstone floor to the raftered ceiling. It’s super-toasty too – great when you get back from a day on the beach.

Downstairs, there’s a kitchen with a circular pine dining table, and a sitting area where colour-washed walls, a squashy sofa and antique pine furniture add to the traditional feel. Leading off the central space is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom plus family bathroom.

Two wooden staircases lead to mezzanine floors either side, one to a cosy sitting room under the eaves, the other to an open-plan twin bedroom with the beds tucked under the rafters.

Open the back door, and you step out to a lovely lawned garden with table and chairs, perfect for al fresco suppers on sunlit evenings.

Please note, due to the internal layout of this cottage, in the event of a fire, guests must be physically capable of exiting the building via a ground floor window should the primary escape routes be blocked or impassable.

Discover the charm of our unique property, formerly the cricket pavilion of Hoe Grammar School in Plymouth, which found its new home in the serene Widemouth Bay during the Second World War.  Steeped in history and lovingly restored by our family, this detached bungalow with three bedrooms offers a sanctuary of sweet simplicity for our guests.

Nestled at the end of a tranquil cul-de-sac and embraced by an enclosed garden, our property provides a haven of peace and privacy just moments from the magnificent beach.  Retaining much of its original cricket pavilion character, including inviting double doors leading to a wide veranda overlooking the spacious front garden (measuring 14m x 21m), the property exudes warmth and nostalgia.

While we’ve added essential modern comforts over the years, such as fast WiFi and a well-equipped kitchen, please note that the building’s original single-ply wooden walls and roof are not insulated, making it unsuitable for winter rentals. However, on clear nights or overcast days, the wood-burning stove and electric heaters ensure a cozy atmosphere indoors.

Accommodating up to six adults across three bedrooms, the property features an open-plan living and dining area with a wood-burning stove, a bathroom with an over-bath shower, and a separate WC. The kitchen, though compact, is equipped with essential appliances including a washing machine, fridge, electric oven, and hob.
