Just a twenty-minute drive north, Bude's visitors can easily discover the beautiful village of Clovelly... This unique fishing village can also be visited by bus. The village and many of its attractions are dog-friendly too!

Bude’s Main Beaches

We have many small and hidden coves in Bude, but here we give information about the main eight. To the north of the town centre we have Duckpool, Sandymouth Bay, Northcott Mouth and Crooklets Beach. Summerleaze Beach in the town centre, and Widemouth Bay, Black Rock and Millook to the south.

Winter and Seasonal use of Beach Huts

Around 70% of the Beach Huts in Bude are used for daily hire.  Of these huts, a selection are available to hire for the winter period (October to March) or for an extended period of October to June.

We're asked for Bude Christmas cards every year.  This year, we've decided to see if we produce a series of unique cards to sell at the Bude Tourist Information Centre and to supply them to the shops in town.  If you're an artist or simply enjoy painting as a hobby, why not get involved?

Annual and winter tenancy of Bude beach huts

Fancy having a beach hut to call your-own?  A good number of the huts at both Crooklets and Summerleaze are set-aside for annual tenancies.  Many of the huts we use for daily hire are leased out on a seasonal tenancy for the off-peak period. There are no qualifying criteria - anyone can have a beach hut, but demand is high and there is a long waiting list for the most popular beach huts.

US Rangers Memorial Stone

US Rangers Memorial Stone is located on Summerleaze Down. A commemoration for the American Rangers who trained for the D-Day Landings in Bude.

Jack Russell Terriers and War Horse

The home of Parson Jack, who bred the Jack Russell Parson Terrier is now the Warhorse Valley Country Park – a fantastic family, accessible and dog-friendly place to visit when you’re staying in Bude.  It’s also the place that inspired Michael Morpugo to write War Horse!
