Nestled on the bank of the scenic Bude Canal, The Old Lifeboat House Apartments invite you to relish in the rich history of the converted Old Lifeboat House. Located just across from the Brendon Arms and a stone’s throw from the town centre, harbour, and Summerleaze Beach, our charming apartments offer the perfect blend of history, convenience, and coastal beauty.

These small yet cozy apartments are perfectly suited for two to four people. Step outside your door, and you’re greeted by a small seating area with the tranquil waters just a meter or two away. A parking space by the front door ensures easy access to your retreat.

Inside, each apartment is gas centrally heated and features an open plan lounge/kitchen diner equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, including an electric cooker and microwave. The lounge area boasts a flat-screen colour television, dining table and chairs, and two sofas, with one converting into a sofa bed for added flexibility. The bedroom offers either a double or twin beds, and the shower room is equipped with a shower, wash hand basin, and W.C.

When viewed from across the canal, the four apartments each have their own unique charm. George Brendon and Thomas Acland are both on the ground floor. Parson Hawker and Captain Barrett, on the first floor.

These apartments pay homage to the early champions of the Bude Lifeboat, reflecting the great tradition of heroic sea rescues that continues with the RNLI today. Each apartment is named after a key figure in Bude’s maritime history: Sir Thomas Acland, George Brendon MFH, Parson Hawker, and Captain Barrett.

George Brendon – Ground Floor Apartment

Situated on the bottom left of the Old Lifeboat House, it features its own outside space where you can relax and enjoy the harbour views. Just steps from the Brendon Arms and a short stroll to Summerleaze beach, it’s a wonderful base for your Bude holiday.

Thomas Acland – Ground Floor Apartment

Located on the bottom right of the Old Lifeboat House, this charming ground floor apartment offers comfort and convenience in the heart of Bude. The apartment has a cosy double bedroom, a bright open-plan living area with a sofa bed, TV, and DVD player, and a fully equipped kitchen for relaxed dining. Perfect for couples or small families, it places you just across from the Tourist Office and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and Summerleaze beach.

Parson Hawker – First Floor Apartment

Enjoy harbour views from this bright and spacious first-floor apartment, located on the top left of the Old Lifeboat House. The apartment features a twin bedroom, an airy open-plan lounge with a sofa bed, TV, and DVD player, and a fully fitted kitchen for easy self-catering. Captain Barrett – First Floor Apartment

Situated on the top right of the Old Lifeboat House, this stylish first-floor apartment is a wonderful choice for a coastal getaway. A stone’s throw from the golden sands and surf at Crooklets Beach, a short stroll past the golf course to the small town of Bude and its restaurants, local shops, bars and cafes.

All of our apartments have a lounge/diner with Smart TV, comfy seating and amazing views across the golf course or over the sea. The kitchens are well-equipped with electric oven, two zone induction hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Leading off the lounge area is the king-size bedroom with and en-suite shower room and WC.

Relax on the shared outside terrace to the front of the property where you can watch the world go by or enjoy a meal in the restaurant within this apartment block.

There is a shared downstairs shower, perfect to use when coming in from the beach and for the furry friends there is a dog bath/shower and grooming area.

Dogs are charged at £35 each per stay.

Just 250 metres from the sea, the South West Coast Path, and Upton’s secluded beach, Aldine Cottage is a beautifully refurbished coastal retreat in a peaceful setting. Guests can enjoy scenic clifftop, canal, and countryside circular walks directly from the door, with the popular surf beaches of Widemouth Bay and Summerleaze close by.

Aldine Cottage sleeps up to five guests in three bedrooms and offers two bathrooms. The cottage is exceptionally well equipped and ideal for year-round stays. Log burners and underfloor heating make it warm and cosy in winter, while the southerly aspect ensures the house is bright and airy during the summer months. There is ample private parking, a large garden and adjoining field, and excellent outdoor space including a barbecue and outdoor kitchen.

Recently refurbished, Aldine Cottage combines traditional cottage character with a contemporary, stylish finish.

Upstairs there is one king-size bedroom and one double bedroom, with a single bedroom downstairs, making the cottage suitable for couples, families, or small groups. A travel cot can be provided on request.

The cottage is fully equipped with Wi-Fi, TV, a Bose sound system, log burners, and underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen features high-quality appliances, including an oven, induction hob, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster, kettle, fridge, and freezer. A separate laundry room includes a washing machine, tumble dryer, and ironing facilities. Swallow, like all our cottages, has undergone significant renovations in recent years, with the most recent addition being a new bath with shower upstairs.

Downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen awaits, complete with a full-size dishwasher. The large sitting room is adorned with leather sofas, offering comfortable seating for relaxation. Enjoy entertainment with a Freeview flat screen TV, Bluetooth soundbar, and Blu-Ray DVD player. DAB radios with Bluetooth speakers in each bedroom add a delightful touch.
