Once an original cob-walled barn of the estate, Grebe Cottage has been thoughtfully converted to provide inviting open-plan living with two comfortable en suite bedrooms.

Recently refurbished and fully centrally heated, the cottage features a beautifully designed Shaker-style kitchen with every modern convenience. The spacious lounge and dining area create a welcoming heart to the home, while a broad staircase leads down to the bedrooms.

The master bedroom offers a king-size bed with en suite shower room, while the second bedroom is ideal for children, with a single bed, sturdy bunks, and its own en suite bathroom.

For larger family gatherings, Grebe combines perfectly with its neighbour, Dunlin, sharing an enclosed courtyard with tables, seating, and BBQs—an exclusive space for relaxed family meals and celebrations.

Broadclose Park Camping – A Convenient Stay in Bude

Located at Bude Football Club, Broadclose Park Camping offers a fantastic base within walking distance of the town centre, Summerleaze Beach, and local supermarkets. The Co-op is just a 5-minute walk towards town, while Morrisons is less than 10 minutes in the opposite direction.

The site is designed for self-contained motorhomes and campers looking for a convenient and affordable base, with easy access to Bude on foot or by bike.

For those bringing tents or travelling in vans that are not self-contained, we emphasise that the site have very basic amenities which are often available. Please note that as this is an operational football club, the shower facilities are basic and there is no chemical waste disposal.

The site offers six electric hook-ups and 25 unmarked non-electric pitches, allowing flexibility to camp alongside family or friends. You can also park your vehicle next to your tent for added convenience.

We kindly ask all visitors to show respect and consideration for one another and our team, creating an inclusive and harmonious environment for everyone to enjoy.

When booking, please observe the following guidelines during your stay:

• Quiet Hours: Maintain low noise levels before 8 AM and after 10 PM to ensure a peaceful night for all.
• BBQ Use: Feel free to use BBQs, but ensure they are elevated off the ground and never left unattended.
• Neighbourly Respect: Please respect the privacy of your neighbours.
• Waste Disposal: Utilize the bins provided around the site and avoid leaving rubbish at your pitch.
• Pet Policy: Keep dogs on a lead around the site and clean up after them. A public footpath adjacent to the site is available for dog walking.

One of six charming cottages in the sunny Stable Courtyard, Woodlark is approached through the original stable archway and has been imaginatively converted from the old stables. At the front, its door opens directly onto the courtyard, while at the rear French doors lead to a private enclosed garden – complete with an all-year-round hot tub for the ultimate in relaxation.

The garden is secure and well-suited for families with dogs or small children, and includes a table, seating, and gas BBQ for your exclusive use.

All set on one level, Woodlark features a bright open-plan lounge, dining, and kitchen area, plus a fully tiled bathroom with bath and shower over.

The cottage offers two comfortable bedrooms:

• A king-sized double bedroom

• A second bedroom with a single bed plus full-sized bunks, suitable for both adults and children (with space for a cot if needed)

Perfectly positioned beside the Bude Canal and just a 5-minute stroll from Summerleaze Beach, Stable Cottage 2 is one of two charming cottages which are an ideal base for walkers, surfers, or anyone seeking a central yet peaceful getaway. The Space
With a bedroom on the ground floor and a second on the mezanine, it’s pet-friendly and comes with private parking.  Originally part of an 18th-century stable block, Stable Cottage 2 has been beautifully converted into a two bedroom holiday home sleeping three, set around a characterful courtyard.

The Grosvenor overlooks Summerleaze Beach. combining a smart, modern style with its original Victorian charm. Six individually designed en-suite rooms, each featuring a flat-screen TV, hospitality tray, mini fridge, and luxurious Hypnos mattress for a restful night’s sleep.

One of the estate’s largest cottages, Heron comfortably accommodates up to six guests and has been finished to a high standard. Converted from the original stable buildings, its impressive open-plan living space features a lofty ceiling, spacious lounge, dining area, and a beautifully designed Shaker-style kitchen—perfect for bringing family and friends together.

All on one level, the cottage offers three well-furnished bedrooms: a king-size double and two twin rooms. There is ample space for two cots—one in the master bedroom and another in a twin room. A stylish family bathroom includes a bath with shower over.

Outside, Heron overlooks the old stable courtyard and has its own grassy area with table, seating, and a gas BBQ—ideal for relaxed outdoor meals.

Heron is especially popular with families and groups booking multiple cottages, as the generous living space provides plenty of room to gather. Next door, Kittiwake can be booked alongside Heron, making an excellent combination for larger family groups of up to 12 people (8 adults and 4 children).

Woodlands Manor is a grand, traditional Grade II listed farmhouse dating back to the 17th century or earlier, retaining many original features such as low lintels, slate floors, and magnificent fireplaces. Guests will delight in the charming blend of old and new.

With six characterful bedrooms, The Manor sleeps 12 plus cots. Each bedroom boasts romantic bedsteads, and children will love discovering the secret spaces, maid’s staircases, and interconnected rooms.

Downstairs, The Manor features three lounges, a dining room, and a large kitchen/conservatory. Comfortable sofas in all sitting rooms provide the perfect spot to enjoy the large wood burner.

Cooks will relish the four-oven Aga in the kitchen/breakfast room, which opens into the conservatory where guests can enjoy the sun even on windy days. A standard range oven complements the Aga, so no need to worry if you’re not familiar with using an Aga.

No matter your age, you’ll love the heated indoor pool at Woodlands. Whether you’re swimming laps or playing with the kids, the fun is limitless. The pool is maintained at a warm 30 degrees, ensuring a comfortable swim year-round.

The Games Room is a favourite among our guests, offering a great opportunity for all ages to relax and enjoy a wide range of activities. We have soft play, table tennis, foosball, giant Connect Four, darts, and pool.

For outdoor play, we provide a playing field with a stunning view, swings, a climbing frame, and a slide. The field also has two football goals, perfect for an impromptu kick-around with the kids.

The woodlands are simply magical, especially in April and May when the ground is carpeted with bluebells. Dogs are welcome to roam, but don’t forget your wellies, as it can get a bit muddy by the stream in winter.

The animals make the farm a special place for everyone. Twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, kids (and big kids) can join Ruth for a feed-the-animals experience, getting up close with pigs, sheep, alpacas, horses, rabbits, goats, chickens, and the cat

The Preston Gate Inn, is a charming pub being a former cottage dating back to the early 1980s. The establishment may be relatively young but the building itself boasts a rich history that adds to its unique character. You’ll find it in the ancient Cornish settlement of Poughill on the edge of Bude.

Originally known as “Pyston Yate” or “Priests Gate,” the origins of the pub’s name is thought to be connected to the nearby old Vicarage, which dates back to 1679. This historical link adds a touch of intrigue and invites you to step back in time as you enjoy the cozy ambiance.

The Proudfoot family took ownership of the Bay View Inn in May 2024, after it had been closed for several months. As locals, they have always loved the Bay View and witnessed its development under different owners over the years. James, pictured in the middle, previously established and developed Whalesborough Cottages and Spa, which was sold in 2023. Seeking a new adventure and already owning fields around the Bay View, James saw this as an opportunity not to be missed. He also runs a seasonal campsite in the adjoining field. Wanting family at the heart of the business, James asked his daughter Annie, a former community nurse, and George, a former builder, to help run the Bay View. Annie, George, and their daughter Marnie embraced the opportunity and moved into the Bay View. The Proudfoot family is excited for the future and hopes to make the Bay View a central part of Widemouth Bay and its surroundings.

Access to this coastal haven isn’t particularly convenient, theres a steep walk down from the National Trust car park.  There’s a seasonal café, and a mere 10-minute walk leads to the year-round Holiday Park, boasting a bar, coffee shop and restaurant.

During low tide, embark on a captivating coastal journey, tracing the two-mile stretch from Crooklets Beach to Sandymouth, where hidden treasures like a buried shipwreck await discovery, alongside the intricate honeycomb structures of the sandcastle worm.

Just a stone’s throw from the heart of Bude, a mere five-minute drive or short bus ride, lies the irresistible allure of Widemouth Bay with a vast two-mile expanse of sand.

This beach proudly boasts a Blue Flag, a testament to its cleanliness and quality and promises all the amenities necessary for a memorable family day at the beach.

While it may appear as one expansive shoreline, it’s actually divided into two distinct sections.  Venturing to the southern end of the beach where the shoreline transitions into rocky terrain takes you to Black Rock Beach.  This rocky expanse presents an ideal opportunity for rock pooling enthusiasts, with an abundance of marine life waiting to be discovered during lower tides.

Duckpool Beach is a cherished retreat, treasured for its untamed charm and secluded atmosphere nestled at the base of the Coombe Valley.  Here, visitors are welcomed by the pristine beauty of a tranquil cove, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Families will find endless delight in the expansive open space, where children can roam freely and discover the wonders of nature.  The beach’s large rockpools promise hours of exploration and excitement, providing a playground of discovery for young adventurers.  While the entrance may be lined with imposing pebbles, the reward of a vast expanse of sand revealed at low tide is well worth the journey.

For those with a spirit of adventure, we recommend ascending the cliff path in either direction, where panoramic vistas await, showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding coastline.  The Coombe Valley also offers a variety of scenic walks, each unveiling its own hidden treasures.
